What We're Seeing: Every Good Girl Deserves Fun

December 9, 2015 Fault Line Theatre

Last week, our friends in Clutch Productions opened their inaugural production, Every Good Girl Deserves Fun, and we couldn’t be more excited to catch this new play Heidi Armbruster. The good people in Clutch have been doing fantastic work both artistically and socially. In their own words:

“The goal of Clutch Productions is to commission a play from a female playwright and foster it from the blank page to an Off-Broadway production in 12 months. In addition, Clutch’s priority is to create jobs for women in theater and film. Therefore, we require all commissioned works to have a female director, 3+ strong female roles, and that at least 50% of the cast is female.”

What’s more, tonight is Alzheimer’s Awareness Night, with a portion of ticket sales going to Alzheimer’s research and care. This is socially relevant theatre at its best. We’ll be there tonight and hope you will be too!

A LITTLE ABOUT THE PLAY

On an unseasonably warm October weekend, two sisters return to their small hometown in Wisconsin to problem solve their mother’s early onset Alzheimer’s. Their struggles to be caregivers set off a chain reaction that tears through the entire community and leaves Liz, the recently promoted director of the memory care wing, to pick up the pieces.

What happens when prolonged adolescence runs headlong into early onset Alzheimer’s?

A dark comedy about growing up too late and aging too soon.
