Doctor Faustus

February 24 - March 6, 2011
The American Theatre of Actors

Written by Christopher Marlowe
Directed by Aaron Rossini

The clock will strike, the devil will come…

In its first New York City production in over 15 years, eight actors tackle 30 characters in this lean staging of Christopher Marlowe’s tale of overreaching ambition, magic and demons. John Faustus pawns his soul in the pursuit of human perfection, but his own depravity drags him from the heights of potential to the furthest depths of waste and despair

Reviews

After such an auspicious maiden voyage, we can expect many, to quote Marlow, more “sweete speeches, comedies, and pleasing showes,” from this ambitious new troupe.
