Synopsis

A coming of age tale of two teenage cousins who go hunting in the backwoods Arkansas in the summer of 2003 and shoot something that is not a duck. They are divided on how to deal with the incident and the repercussions redefine their lives both as kids and kindred.

Playwright

NAOMI LORRAIN [she/her] is a Harlem based, Southern born queer actor/playwright. Her work often explores the intricacies of humanity via the lens of humor and nostalgia. Naomi’s plays have been developed/produced by 2nd Stage, South Coast Rep, Uptown Collective, The Fire This Time Festival, Vanguard Theater’s Illuminating New Voices Festival, The Black Motherhood & Parenting New Play Festival, The Continuum Company, HomeBase Theatre Collective and The 52nd Street Kids Project. Her play, DUCK HUNT, semifinalist for the 2026 National Playwrights Conference at the O'Neil, is currently being developed by Fault Line Theatre’s Irons in the Fire and her play, how to roll a blunt, finalist for the 2021 National Playwrights Conference, has an upcoming production with 2ST April 2027. Her screenplay, My Better Half was a 2021 2nd Rounder for Comedy Feature Screenplay at the Austin Film Festival as well as a quarterfinalist for the WeScreenplay: Diverse Voices Screenwriting Lab. Naomi was a Disney Television Discovers: Talent Showcase Staff Writer and an alum of the Page 73 Writers Group. Director

AARON ROSSINI [he/him] is Producing Artistic Director and Co-Founder of Fault Line Theatre. He has a B.F.A. from Miami University of Ohio and an M.F.A. from the Brown University/Trinity Rep Graduate Program. Aaron produces, directs, teaches, and acts.  Fault Line Theatre: Hindsight, Round Table, The Oregon Trail, The Wedge Horse, At the Table, Breathing Time, The Faire, From White Plains, From the Same Cloth, Frogs, Doctor Faustus, Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, “(plays) In Previews.”, and “Irons in the Fire”.
